Camping just got glam!

A couple of weeks ago when we luckily had a bit of sunshine we had the pleasure of staying at the delightful Broadhembury Holiday Park in one of their fancy new glamping tents.

I have always been a massive fan of camping and enjoy being forced back to basics. It's a great excuse to relax, recharge and chill under the stars. Although of course everything now is a little different with a toddler in tow! So it goes without saying that the full sized beds, the private garden, electricity and coffee facilities made camping a very leisurely experience for all of us.

As always when we packed for a couple of nights away we looked as if we were moving home as I tend to worry about everything which results in me packing for all eventualities. With the car full to the brim I started to get concerned I would be reliving my Glastonbury days of trekking across fields loaded up with bags across my back to eventually reach my tent. However to my absolute surprise we were greeted at the entrance by the wonderful owners who showed us to our tent and not only could we drive right up to the door but we could also park our car right outside which meant we didn't even need to unpack the ridiculous large bags of essential items (which of course did not get used!).

Excited to be by the seaside we had a quick look around the campsite before heading to Hythe where we enjoyed a windy ice cream and traditional fish and chips and of course spent a few pennies in the arcades. We all went to bed that night in our cosy beds chilled on sea air and to the relaxing sounds of country life.

We awoke after a very restful night, we actually had a lie in which meant we felt slightly embarrassed stumbling to the showers in our pjs whilst the other campers were up and ready for the day. We then fired up our gas stove and cooked ourselves a delicious stack of bacon sandwiches, eggs and we washed it down with hot coffee. The hamper and kitchen essentials provided were brilliant as it meant we had everything we needed for our overnight stay so we didn't need to bring anything extra with us.

Camping can clearly be done in style and Broadhembury certainly proved that, it was such a wonderful first camping experience for Amelie and I have def got the glamping bug!
